Real Stories, Real Change

Behind every number is a child whose life has been touched. Our programs and partnerships create pathways for children to grow up healthy, confident, and full of potential.

A Mother's New Beginning
Rina Begum, a mother from Jamalpur, learned about early childhood brain development through ICHD’s “How Children Learn” training. Equipped with new knowledge, she began practicing playful learning and positive communication with her 3-year-old daughter. Within months, Rina noticed a remarkable change — her child was more expressive, curious, and confident. This transformation inspired Rina to encourage other mothers in her community to adopt the same practices.
Training That Changes Classrooms
Shamim, a primary school teacher in Chittagong Hill Tracts, joined ICHD’s professional training on child-friendly teaching methods. The training helped him shift from lecture-style teaching to interactive, play-based learning. Shamim’s students not only showed improved classroom participation but also higher retention and enthusiasm for learning. He later trained fellow teachers, multiplying the impact across local schools.
Strengthening Childcare in Garment Factories
When ICHD partnered with GIZ Bangladesh to train daycare caregivers in garment factories, Nazma Akhter, a caregiver from Dhaka, joined the program. After the training, she applied new techniques for creating a child-friendly environment at her center. The results were immediate — children became more engaged, less anxious, and parents reported higher trust and satisfaction. Nazma’s center became a model for other factories in her district.
